Care
Arc sees adults, 18 and older. Each kind of visit has one job, so you always know what today is for.
Sixty minutes with a prescriber: your history, the medicines you take now, what you want to change, and a plan you agree to.
About the evaluationShort visits that check how the plan is working and whether one thing should change.
About follow-upsFollow-ups by video from home. We are licensed in Florida, so you need to be in Florida at the time of the visit.
About video visitsApproach
We start with listening and a full history. Medicine is one part of a plan, and often not the only part.
Arc sees adults who live with mood disorders and want a prescriber who explains each decision. We work alongside your therapist, and if you do not have one we can suggest where to look.
Prescribers
Every prescriber at Arc follows the same visit schedule and the same medication policy. Each license is listed at the foot of every page.

Directions to the Arc Psychiatry, Sarasota officePrescribing policy
A short policy, the same for every patient and every prescriber at Arc.
The answers to what nearly everyone asks before a first visit.
Arc is out of network with insurance plans, so you pay for each visit yourself. Arc does not bill Medicare or Medicaid. If you would rather have a prescriber who bills your plan, we will give you the names of colleagues who do.
Out of network with insurance plans
No Medicare or Medicaid billing
You pay at the end of each visit by card, and HSA and FSA cards work. Your fee is set by the length of the visit, and you get it in writing before the first visit. A small number of reduced-fee visits are held each month; ask when you book. We ask for 24 hours' notice to change or cancel a visit, and the estimate tells you what a late cancellation costs.
After a visit you can have an itemized receipt (a superbill) with the date, the kind of visit and a diagnosis code, to send to your plan. Your insurer can see the code. Your plan decides whether it reimburses any of the cost, so ask it before you start.
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost, before you start. We send yours after you book and before the first visit. If a bill comes to $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
We do not check benefits, because we do not bill your plan. To find out whether it reimburses out-of-network care, call the number on your card before the first visit and ask about out-of-network mental health benefits.
The first evaluation is 60 minutes: your history, your current medicines, what you want to change and a written plan. Follow-up visits run 25 minutes, or 45 when there is more to cover. Pharmacy and lab charges come from the pharmacy and the lab, not from Arc.
Questions
No. Arc is out of network with insurance plans and does not bill Medicare or Medicaid. You pay for each visit yourself, and we can give you a receipt to send to your plan.
It lasts 60 minutes. Your prescriber asks about your history, how you have been feeling and any medicine you take now, explains how Arc works and the limits of confidentiality, and you decide the next step together. Nothing is prescribed before an evaluation.
Your prescriber sets the pace with you. Many people come every few weeks at first and less often once things are steady. The visit schedule on this page shows the usual pattern.
We are licensed in Florida, so video visits are for patients in Florida. Our policy on controlled medication is on its own page. State law and federal law decide when it can be prescribed after a video visit, and the rules change, so your prescriber tells you what applies to you.
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of your costs before you start. We send yours before the first visit. If a bill comes to $400 or more above it, you can dispute the bill. The estimate is not a contract.
Call or text 988 at any time, or call 911 in an emergency. This site is not monitored around the clock, and our office is not a crisis service.
