Your first session

Your first evaluation

Sixty minutes with one of Arc's prescribers. It is for you to be heard and to leave knowing what happens next.

Your prescriber asks how the last few months have been, what you have tried, and what you want to change. They explain how Arc works and where confidentiality has limits. Then you decide together what, if anything, to start.

What we cover

  • Your history and how you have been feeling

  • Every medicine and supplement you take now

  • What you want to change, in your words

  • A plan you agree to, and the date of your next visit

The visit

What the 60 minutes look like

  1. 01

    Step 1: Listening

The first part is yours. Your prescriber asks open questions and takes notes.

  2. 02

    Step 2: History and medicines

Past care, family history that matters to you, and a careful list of what you take now.

  3. 03

Step 3: Questions and a plan

What you could try, what it can and cannot do, what to watch for, and what you want to hold off on.

  4. 04

    Step 4: The next date

You leave with the next visit on the calendar and a one-page summary.

Before you come

What to bring

  • Your medicines

The bottles or a list: names, doses, and how you actually take them.

  • Past care

Names of earlier prescribers and therapists, if you want us to know them.

  • Your questions

Write them down. Nothing is too small.

Plainly

What this visit is not

  • Not a quick refill

A first visit is not a stop for a refill. Nothing is prescribed before the evaluation is done.

  • Not therapy

We listen closely, but this is a medical visit. We can suggest a therapist.

  • Not a crisis visit

If you need help today, call or text 988, or call 911.

Questions

Questions about the first evaluation

How is the first visit paid for?

You pay at the end of the visit by card, and you get a written estimate beforehand. See how fees work for the receipt and estimate details.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. Tell us when you book, and your prescriber will ask you privately what you want shared.

What if I am not sure I want medicine?

That is a fine reason to come. The evaluation is a conversation, and you decide what, if anything, to start.
