Care
Follow-up visits
Twenty-five minutes, on a schedule you can read.
After the evaluation, most visits are short. Each one checks how the plan is working and whether one thing should change. It is the same prescriber each time, in the office or by video.
How often
Your prescriber sets the pace with you. Early on, visits are often every two to four weeks. Once things are steady, they often spread out to every two to three months. These are typical patterns, not promises.
What a visit is not
A follow-up is not a refill window or a place to start a second change before the first one has been reviewed.
Each visit
What we go over
How you have been
Mood, sleep, energy and what has been hard since the last visit, in your words.
Side effects
What you notice, when it happens, and whether it is worth a change.
The questionnaire
The same short questionnaire as the first visit, so you can both see the pattern.
The one change
If something should change, one thing does, with a date to review it.
Staying in touch
Between visits
Questions
Send a message to the office. We reply on business days, and a clinician answers anything about a medicine.
Refills
Ask a week ahead. A refill is checked against your last visit and your plan.
If something feels wrong
Call us during office hours. For a crisis, call or text 988; in an emergency, call 911.
Questions
Questions about follow-ups
How long is a follow-up?
Twenty-five minutes, and forty-five when there is more to go over. Your prescriber tells you which one the next visit needs.
How is a follow-up paid for?
You pay at the end of the visit by card. How the fee is set and the receipt for your plan are on the fees page.
Can follow-ups be by video?
Yes, when you are in Florida at the time of the visit, since that is where we are licensed.
Need to change or add a visit?
Write to us, or call the office during business hours.
